The sale of the Crenshaw Baldwin Hills Mall is a huge opportunity to bring quality jobs of all kinds to our neighborhood. Imagine if Amazon were to open an operations/logistics center and hire people from the community. Imagine mid and large size employers providing opportunities in administration, driving, project management, accounting/finance, legal, warehousing and creative right here! Imagine the spending and money flow to Leimert Park Village and other existing neighborhood businesses, shops, restaurants, and merchants.
Imagine being able to take your family to breakfast, lunch or dinner on foot, bike or short car ride while recycling our dollars in our neighborhood. Just imagine. Well, this doesn’t just have to be imagined but I believe can become reality by striving to work with the new owner helping him to understand our vision of a better future! Let’s stop the petty bickering regarding the color of the skin of the owner, his name or who he’s done business with in the past. Let’s welcome Asher Abehsera, work with him and hopefully help influence him to develop the mall into an economic engine we can all support and benefit from, improving all of our quality of lives here in Leimert Park!
